An early aleph and a computer A key occupy the same frame. A hand once cut the mark. A finger now presses the key. The letter continues.
01 / The Work
The letter survives its interfaces.
A sandstone fragment holds the frame. A computer A key breaks through it in sudden bursts, disappears, then returns with increasing frequency until input occupies the image completely.
The transformation is not a clean replacement. The tablet's fracture, absent corner, and mineral inclusion persist in the key. A new interface inherits the material memory of the old.
The loop refuses an endpoint. Once the key resolves, the image faults back into stone. The contemporary object becomes one temporary surface in a much longer history of the mark.

02 / The Continuity
A picture becomes a letter. A letter becomes input.
The work follows an inheritance rather than a straight line of progress. Each interface changes the gesture, but the sign carries traces of every surface it has crossed.

Across scripts, the figure rotates and simplifies. The animal recedes while the sign becomes portable, repeatable, and increasingly independent of its surface.

The pressed instruction
The keyboard key does not replace the letter. It packages the inherited form as a command, turning a finger movement into a character inside computation.
A hand carves the mark. A finger presses the key. The letter continues.
03 / The Glitch
The key appears before it arrives.
Nine states document the loop: incision, first interruption, acceleration, input, and hidden return.
04 / The Alphabet
An archaeology, not an accusation.
The Alphabet Stole My Thoughts asks what writing does to thought. The Letter follows the same medium across its material lives.
One work is a critique of mediation: the alphabet compresses, disciplines, and begins to complete thought. This work is an archaeology of mediation: incision and input appear as distant gestures inside one historical continuity.
The distinction does not exonerate the alphabet. It makes the inheritance visible before asking what that inheritance has done to us.

05 / The Lineage
Three material histories, one temporal grammar.
The third study preserves the exact frame, timing, interruptions, resolution, and return of the first two works. Only the object changes.
Stone becomes processor. Untamed growth becomes regulated play. Incised sign becomes input key. Across all three loops, technology does not arrive from elsewhere. It emerges from a history already present inside the object.

A fixed moving-image master.
The work is preserved as a nine-second silent video master. Its first and final visual states are identical, allowing the cycle to repeat without a visible seam.
